PIP BREAST IMPLANTS
I would like to reassure all of my past and current patients that I have NEVER used PIP breast implants. If I have undertaken your breast implant surgery then you can simply ignore the current news stories regarding ‘unsafe’ breast implants as this does NOT apply to you.

The next Butterflies patient information evening will take place in the Postgraduate Education Centre at the City Hospital, Birmingham in March 2012. Butterflies is a registered charitable organisation set up to help women who have had a breast cancer and are considering breast reconstruction. You and a friend/partner are welcome to come and join us for an informal cheese and wine evening, during which I shall be giving a brief talk on the options available for breast reconstruction. If you are considering a breast reconstruction, there will be plenty of opportunity for you meet and chat with other women who are either considering undergoing the same operation,or who have already undergone a breast reconstruction – this can be a very valuable opportunity to discuss your fears and anxieties, and to hear how other women have coped and recovered from these procedures.

We will be holding a free open evening at 7.30pm on 22nd November 2011, during which we will discuss various aspects of cosmetic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. I have started using Fibrin Glue in several surgical procedures. Fibrin is the substance found in our blood which enables blood to clot and thus seal bleeding vessels. Using this glue in facelifts means that the skin of the face and neck sticks down straight away and thus there is no need to use drains (tubes which are usually buried beneath the skin of the cheeks and neck to avoid fluid or blood collecting). Drains are probably the commonest cause of pain and discomfort after facelift surgery. By using fibrin glue, drains are avoided and so pain is minimised – hence the ‘drainless-painless’ facelift!

I would like to announce a new Botox Service at Number 1 Worcester Street. I have a huge experience in using Botox and fillers for aesthetic facial rejuvenation and have been using Botox for over 10 years in my clinical practice. I have a hugely detailed knowledge of facial anatomy and understand the nuances of muscle balance and the effects of facial ageing.
