The first thing to do when considering surgery is to do your homework, read up about your intended operation on the internet and possibly discuss it with your family doctor.

The next step is then to arrange a consultation with a plastic surgeon. This will give you a clear idea of whether or not surgery can actually achieve your desired goals. It will also give you a chance to ask any questions to help you fully understand what cosmetic surgery can offer to you. It is a good idea to bring a list of written questions with you as people often forget to ask something during the consultation. Furthermore, many (but not all) patients like to bring a friend or relative with them to help ask questions and remember the answers!

After the consultation you will then be able to go home and think about what was discussed. If you do wish to procede with surgery a suitable date can be arranged either with me at the end of the consultation or by telephoning my secretary later.
